The sequel to The
Vampire Lestat. After it was found that Akasha had awakened, all
the vampires that were spared during her mass murder came together to find
a way to appease or destroy her. Akasha kidnapped Lestat and attempted
to make herself a goddess in some poorer countries, for this she must die
thought the vampires. She however was the Queen of the Damned, the mother
of all vampires, if anyone harmed her all vampires would certantly perish.
For if she died or was harmed so would all the vampires.
In an attempt to
think of a way to annihilate Akasha the vampire Maharet told her 3000 year
old story that might have held the key to Akasha's downfall. This caused
a dramatic climax in the book when an unexpected visitor was the savior
of the day (or night rather).
